At Inkd Empress Studio, we are committed to helping you achieve the best results from every treatment. Following these aftercare instructions ensures your skin, lashes, brows, and tattoos heal properly and stay beautiful for longer.
Semi Permanent Make up
Your aftercare is an important part of achieving the best possible healed result.
Your skin needs time to heal and your pigment needs time to settle. Following the advice below will help protect your treatment, minimise irritation and support even colour retention.
FIRST 24–48 HOURS
- Keep the treated area clean and dry, following the specific aftercare instructions provided at your appointment.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking the treated area.
- Do not apply makeup, skincare products, oils or creams directly over the treated area unless specifically recommended.
- Avoid excessive sweating, strenuous exercise and activities that cause prolonged heat.
- Avoid steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and very hot showers.
- Keep the area protected from dirt, dust and unnecessary contact.
DURING THE HEALING PERIOD
It is normal for the treated area to appear darker, sharper or more intense initially. Mild redness, tenderness, tightness and slight swelling can occur immediately after treatment.
As the skin heals, the pigment may appear to fade significantly or temporarily disappear before gradually returning and settling. This is a normal part of the healing process.
Do not pick, peel or remove any flaking skin. Allow the skin to shed naturally. Picking can interfere with pigment retention and may increase the risk of scarring or infection.
AVOID UNTIL FULLY HEALED
For approximately 7–14 days, or until the area has completely healed:
- Swimming and prolonged water exposure
- Saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs
- Sunbathing and tanning beds
- Excessive sweating
- Facials, peels, dermaplaning and exfoliation around the treated area
- Retinol, acids and other active skincare directly around the treated area
- Waxing or threading over the treated area
- Makeup directly on the treated area
- Picking, scratching or peeling
PROTECT YOUR RESULTS
Once fully healed, protect your semi-permanent makeup from UV exposure by using a high-SPF sunscreen around the area and avoiding prolonged sun exposure.
Sun exposure can contribute to premature fading and changes in pigment over time.
KEEP YOUR SKINCARE GENTLE
Once your skin has completely healed, return gradually to your normal skincare routine. Avoid applying strong exfoliating acids or retinoids directly over the treated area where possible, as these can contribute to faster pigment fading.
YOUR PERFECTING APPOINTMENT
Semi-permanent makeup is a two-stage process. Your initial treatment creates the foundation, while a perfecting appointment allows us to assess how your skin has healed and make any necessary adjustments to colour, shape and density.
Your perfecting appointment will be discussed with you during your treatment and should only be carried out once the skin has sufficiently healed.
IMPORTANT
Everyone's skin heals differently. Results and pigment retention can vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, skincare routine, medications, sun exposure and individual healing.

If you experience increasing redness, significant swelling, severe pain, pus/discharge, spreading warmth or other symptoms that concern you, seek appropriate medical advice promptly.
Luxury Skincare & Facials
Avoid touching or picking at your skin for 24 hours.
Skip heavy makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
Use gentle, organic skincare products (like Tropic Skincare) for the first 48 hours.
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and saunas for 48 hours.
Keep your skin hydrated with a clean moisturizer.
Microneedling
Avoid direct sun, heavy sweating, and makeup for 24–48 hours.
Use only gentle, hydrating serums and moisturizers recommended.
Avoid exfoliants, retinol, or strong acids for 5–7 days.
Scalp Microneedling
Avoid washing your hair for the first 24 hours unless instructed.
Do not apply harsh chemicals, dyes, or heat treatments for 48 hours.
Avoid direct sun exposure immediately after treatment.
Use only recommended scalp serums or oils to support healing and growth.
Do not scratch or pick at the treated areas.
Tattoos
Keep the tattoo clean and dry for the first 24 hours.
Apply aftercare balm sparingly as instructed.
Avoid soaking in water (baths, swimming) for 1–2 weeks.
Avoid direct sun; use SPF after the tattoo has fully healed.
Do not scratch, pick, or peel the tattoo during healing.
Follow all aftercare instructions carefully to ensure optimal healing and longevity.
Massage
Indian Head & Full Body Massage
Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins.
Avoid heavy exercise immediately after your massage.
Rest and allow your body to integrate the treatment.
Gentle stretching is recommended the following day.
